About Argenta, IL - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!

With only about 950 residents, Argenta is a small Macon County, Illinois village found within the Decatur Metro Statistical Area. Located along Highway 48 between Oreana and Cisco, Argenta is only 15 miles from Decatur. The village is also located near other major metro areas: Springfield is 53 miles southwest, while Champaign is only 35 miles northeast of Argenta. This area is served by the Argenta-Oreana CUSD #1, and older students will complete their education at Argenta-Oreana High School.

As a small village, there are few attractions or major businesses located directly in Argenta. Casey’s Carry Out Pizza and the Rainey Nursery are two of the most popular businesses in the area, but fortunately, the close proximity of Argenta to Decatur makes it easy to access other major attractions. Families with young children may like to take a day trip into Decatur to visit the Children’s Museum of Illinois and the Scovill Zoo, while other popular destinations include the Chevrolet Hall of Fame Museum and the Kirkland Fine Arts Center.

The Argenta area will experience varied weather throughout the year, which is typical with a humid continental climate zone. The winter months are snowy and cold, with average daily highs in the mid-30s. To stay warm, residents need a reliable home furnace, but these systems can usually be turned off once the spring season begins.

Spring in Argenta is warm and rainy and will lead to a hot, humid summer. July is the hottest month of the year, and average daily highs often reach the upper-80s. These hot conditions will sometimes extend into the fall months, so it is important that residents have a reliable and energy efficient central air conditioning unit to in place. Not only will these systems help to keep indoor temperatures cool, but they’ll also improve the quality of circulating air – a great benefit for people who suffer from allergies and asthma.
