Located in Macon County, Illinois, Mount Zion is a modestly sized village with approximately 6,000 residents. The village is located about 10 miles southeast of Decatur and 54 miles southwest of Champaign, which is home to the University of Illinois Champaign-Urbana. Mount Zion is part of a humid continental climate zone, meaning that residents enjoy four distinct seasons during the course of the year. This allows for a variety of outdoor recreational opportunities, including downhill and cross country skiing during the cold and snowy winter months.
